Job Purpose:
- Testing & Validation Engineer is accountable for making/Keeping the Ideal testing setup and environment (HITL) ready for testing Loads/Controls simulations and SW release tests.
- Developing the testing and validation process, required tools, and release integration support.
- Deliver Smoke test and Regression test plans, Ensure of rigorous test cases and documentation of reports.
- Co-create the Unit tests/Feature tests with Controls/software engineers in the team.
- Own complete software testing process for development life cycle (SDLC) and automation testing. Deliver On agreed Time and Quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build the Required Hardware in The Loop (HiTL) setup, testing environment tools chain and IT infrastructure required for Testing the turbine control SW and SCADA Online Control (SOC) kit.
- Build and maintain the HW setup for Main controller, Hub controller and PMU with sufficient server capacity.
- Integrate testing process into the SW release process of SDLC with required tools like Jenkins, SVNs.
- Build process and Develop test supporting tools (Mappers, HITL parameter list, Test reports generating tools) to enhance testing and validation.
- Develop and maintain the standard test cases, unit test plans/process in alignment with SW development team.
- Develop and maintain the Automation test cases. Enhance developers to do Smoke test and regression tests on the units/features in Turbine controls/SOC kit.
- Support Loads/Controls evaluation simulation iterations with HITL.
- Ensure the integration of engineering tools like Access Control, Parameter management and interface management tools testing and validation at HITL.
- Implement world-class methods and tools for control software Testing environments.
- Execute in collaboration with the Loads, Controls developers, and Testing engineers to ensure On Time Readiness Test setups and processes to fulfil Team requirements.
- Continuously benchmark to leading technologies in the industry and ensure roadmap alignment within the team.
- Act immediately on escalations that relate to accountability and responsibility. Implement lean processes and management mechanisms for a superior performance. Communicate effectively and constructively within own team, with colleagues across P&T and Senvion India about program execution progress, risk, milestones etc.
Comply and ensure compliance of the team to all processes and procedures of Senvion India, ensure 100% compliance to QMS processes
Desired Professional Experience
- Must have experience in HITL setup with good understanding of PLCs, Input Output modules, SCADA technology, Communication protocols like OPC, IEC, Modbus, Profibus, and CAN, SW development process and testing, Experience in wind industry, Awareness of wind industry terminologies and process are advantages.
- Must have experience in SW testing methods and tools, both Manual and Automation testing, verification & validation process.
- Must have experience in any of the Automation tools like QTP, QFT, Selenium and Test Complete.
- Must have experience in co-development of technologies with third parties
- Exposure to C, C++ / ST codes, Scripting using Ruby/Python/Perl is are advantage
- Experience in IDE’s like Bachmann Solution Center, Visual studio, Eclipse and similar.
- Experience in Version handling tools like Git, SVN, Good knowledge on Integration/release processes
